At Scarborough Physical Therapy Associates, PA, we have a team of pelvic floor rehab experts who are here to help our patients find clinical solutions to their pelvic health concerns. Our therapists have private and professional treatment rooms and spend close to one hour of direct one-on-one time with our patients every visit. In addition, we have a Pilates Rehab Studio and two well equipped gym spaces that support our patients’ pelvic floor treatment goals.
Women and men come to pelvic floor rehab for many reasons. Some common concerns include bladder issues such as urinary leakage during cough, sneeze or exercise, bladder pain, going to the bathroom frequently or having problems starting a urine stream; bowel issues such as longstanding constipation and straining on the toilet or pain during bowel movement; sexual issues such as discomfort or pain during sexual activity, decreased feeling during sex or inability to obtain an erection; or spinal issues such as pain during sitting, sports injuries or chronic low back pain. We treat women and men of every age and stage of life.
Our pelvic floor therapists will teach you about your pelvic floor muscles that reside in the center of your body and are a key part of your bladder, sexual, bowel and spinal function. We will address your immediate concerns and teach you how to connect with your pelvic floor and core muscles throughout your day so that you can maintain the gains you make in therapy. Our team has over 75 years of combined experience in treating pelvic floor patients and our clinical outcomes are excellent. Our treatment approach is gentle and highly individualized.
