Description of Our Modalities

Phonophoresis
The use of ultrasound to enhance the delivery of topically applied drugs.

Iontophoresis
Iontophoresis is a modality that utilizes gentle electrical current to deliver medication through the skin into inflamed or painful tissues. It works well with localized issues such as tendonitis or joint pain.

Radial Pulse Wave/Shockwave
Radial Pulse Wave/Shockwave generates acoustic waves that create oscillations of tissue, stimulating metabolic activity and the body’s intrinsic healing mechanism.  Especially helpful in chronic issues or in tissues with a high degree of inflammation or fibrotic change, several sessions of RPW/Shockwave can promote blood flow and tissue changes.

Cold Laser
Cold Laser delivers non-thermal light into tissues to accelerate metabolic activity and cell rejuvenation, and facilitate healing.

Ultrasound
A deep healing modality which uses sound waves to promote blood flow to an injured area to enhance healing.

Electrical Stimulation
Uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle or group of muscles to contract to enhance strength. Also used on various settings to decrease pain, decrease muscle spasms, and decrease swelling to an injured area.

TENS
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation uses electrical stimulation to a specific area to decrease pain. Generally used as a home pain management plan.

Moist Heat
Increases blood flow to a region to help heal tissues and relax muscles.

Cryotherapy
Uses ice to reduce swelling, muscle spasm and pain.

Kinesio Taping
A taping technique is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions

Yamuna Body Rolling
A technique that utilizes 6-10” diameter inflatable balls the stretch muscles and free restrictions in all parts of the body and ultimately increase blood flow and promote healing.

What Clients Say

Growing stronger as I grow older is a great feeling! My chronically cranky back has become happy and flexible. Powerful core muscles are the reason I thank June Tait at SPTA. Her physical therapist knowledge informs and enhances the Modified Pilates exercise class that strengthens bodies to do whatever they want with ease.
